“Mommy, I’m going to try my hardest to get you a turkey, but if I don’t, don’t be disappointed!
I’m really going to try my hardest!” Braydon said as he headed off to his Papa’s house to stay the night in order to wake up extra early to hunt!
Recently 8, Braydon Saunders can officially take full advantage of his WV Lifetime Hunting & Fishing License and he intends to. He has been dedicated to learning the ins and outs of Turkey hunting for the last two months! He looked for them every chance he could get, learned to use a turkey call, went out before daylight just to listen for that gobble, practiced and perfected his shot, listened to all the advice, practiced patience, and learned to be quiet (that’s huge).
ALL his hard work paid off on the second day of the WV Youth Turkey Season! He woke up two days straight at 5:30 am and finally got himself his “stud” (as he calls it) on Sunday, April 16, 2023, around 10:30 am! It is amazing to watch children work so hard, dedicate so much time, and achieve their goals! We are so proud of him!
