As we descended the trail after visiting Bertha Lake, we were met by some people climbing, who informed us of a moose ahead in the trees around the corner. So with camera ready, I grabbed this photo. But this sure did not look like a moose. With the big ears (compared to those of a mule), this is a Rocky Mountain mule deer, calmly posing for us. And those antlers are growing (they lose and grow a new set of antlers every year) and will become very large by the end of the summer.
