New Lyrics Add Fresh Take On Classic Ditty
“Don’t feel bad, eh, even though you did miss a ‘golden’ opportunity!”
That’s just one of the dozens of jabs directed at the hapless hunter featured in a new deer hunting song, Big Buck, soon to be released by the group Hunter Lake.
As hunting buddies gather at a local watering hole the evening before opening day, the subject quickly turns to last season and “the one that got away.” The tale is set to music from a well-known tune while a steady stream of wisecracks rains mercilessly down on the poor chap who missed his chance.
Exactly why he missed out on the trophy buck is something many a hunter can relate to.
Recording and producing the parody began last winter in Full Well Recording Studio, the same professional studio that’s been used by Alice Cooper and many other rock groups. The final mix of more than 100 separate tracks of music, vocals and one-liners is nearly complete.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the tune will support charities related to wildlife conservation and fighting hunger. Look for the tune Big Buck, coming soon to online music sources just in time for gun deer season.
