Thus far, researchers collared 116 deer and have gathered information on mortalities, movements, activity periods and other data. Researchers continue to monitor 180 trail cameras in the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and Big Cypress National Preserve, and to date they have processed and cataloged over 100,000 images of wildlife and human activity. The research team is currently preparing for helicopter and rocket-netting captures that will resume in winter 2015, and all monitoring, camera survey efforts and other activities will continue for the next two years.
