Does it get any “cuter” than this ? | Deer on Trail Camera

Does it get any

I was on my way to the "Old Quarry Trail" this morning. It -17, very sunny and the roads were very slippery with black ice that had formed for the previous day’s snowfall. I took the long way there and drove past the NORTEL building where a number of people had to told me about a young hawk that has been hanging around the area. I guess it was not my morning to see the hawk as he was nowhere to be found.

I started to make my way to Eagleson Road Drive via Herzberg Road where a car had spun out on the ice and was sitting in a snowbank. I stopped to see if the young man needed any help. Another driver stopped and we eventually were able to push him out of the snowbank. This had happened to Ivy a couple of years ago when she spun out on Centrepointe Drive. Someone had stopped and helped me push her car out of the snowbank.

The trial looked great this morning just gleaming in the sun when i got there. I had brought 2 bags of carrots to feed the deer. The first group of deer (5) that i met on the first part of the trail ate all of my carrots. I noticed a area where the sun was shining though the trees and went into the woods to check it out. I met an 8 point buck that was also walking through the woods. He stood about 10 feet from me. I looked at him through the branches, he looked at me and then we both went on our way.

I then made my way to where the chickadees like to hang around at the walkway over the marsh. I fed the chickadees and took a few photos. I met another photographer by the name of Craig who was walking the trails. He was using a Pentax K5 which is a camera that i am interested in and am considering buying. It is selling at a pretty good discount right now. He seemed like a very nice guy and we chatted for a while.

We both took off in different directions after chatting for a while. I was coming around the backside of the Old Quarry Trail and I looked to my left and saw this young cutie who was all by itself. It was eating the green off of cedar trees. I didn’t have anything other than bird seed left to feed it. I took the bag out of my backpack and poured it into a pile on the hard packed snow. He hesitated to come out of the woods and i was able to take a few photos. It was so cute i wanted to bring it home. This one wins my "Cutest Deer that i Have Seen in the Forest" so far award !

It was spooked by a cross country skier a few minutes later and ran into the woods. I was able to take a photo of it when it looked back. I chatted with the skier for a few minutes and then walked away. When i turned around to look he was coming back to finish his little pile of seeds. So cute !

Looks nice large on black when you press the letter L on your keyboard.
